The capital of the Ursern valley could preserve its original, historical sight up to he present day. Innumerable summer activities such as hiking, mountain biking, climbing, tennis, fishing or a trip on the Glacier-Express railway or the historic stagecoach over the Gotthard pass fulfill every wish. The Suworowhaus is the most remarkable building in Andermatt and surely worth a visit.
Winter
There are also varied opportunities in winter: The Urserental is considered to be an area with snow guaranteed and therefore has 13 installations with totally 80 kilometres of ski runs of every level of difficulty. Skiers who like to leave their mark in deep powder snow are warmly welcome in the Gotthard area, which is regarded as a paradise for off-piste skiing. Friends of cross-county skiing, too, will not be disappointed, as you can find here 30 kilometres of runs. The marvellous winter scenery can also be discovered on foot or snowshoes on well prepared winter trails of 10 kilometres of length.
